This monstrous chewing and chopping of vegetation machine was hired on the weekend (yes, the Sleepover weekend) to mulch all the bits of the removed trees. You know those big chomping machines that the commercial tree loppers have? It was one of them.
It looked in the kitchen window at me. I could have imagined taunting but that would be silly.
The giraffe machine made this large pile of shredded trees.
I was able to finish the sculpture in a way that I'm not unhappy with. Some other ideas I had would have, perhaps, been more successful. I went in today for assessment only to find it was yesterday. However, I was able to talk with Catherine, my sculpture teacher, about the work, and hand in my journal which has a photographic record of the process and completed work. Hoping for a pass.
The sculpture emerging from the mulch of the same trees. Fitting, I think. Over the past weeks the lovely variation of colours of the fruit wood has faded. The freshly sawn timber was much more beautiful.
Reminds me of that Goodies episode where the heavy machines come to life and start rampaging like dinosaurs. I hope you weren't penalised for being a day late on the assessment? I think the sculpture looks great.

It would be dangerous to have that machine so near my kitchen window. It would give me ideas of what I might do to the person who left his plate covered in left-over avocado in the sink to harden rather than washing it.

I think the cut tree sculpture is really beautiful - a big compensation for all the noise! Also wondered if you knew that it's best to let the created tree mulch compose (with dried chicken poo added) before putting on the beds? If you do put it straight on then add lots of dried chicken poo or else the rotting tree bits will draw up nitrogen from the soil and actually deplete it. Hope that's helpful.
