This is something called Afghan crochet. I think it's gorgeous. I wish I'd worn it as my wedding dress in 1985. Much better than the foofy 80's dress I wore. I was thin enough then, to wear such a thing.
For the knitters:
A bit of a contrast. All those wild stripes and the parted legs versus the Dutch girl hair style and fluffy pastel.
