Found at the Lakes Entrance second had shop on Sunday. Two Mexico bowls and a saucer which is Chequers. I'm not sure if Chequers is a KW design, but it comes from that era of Broadhurst.
Lots of interesting stuff at this secondhand shop. Going in with $7.00 in your wallet is an exercise in restraint.
Those are feijoas (aka pineapple guava) in the photo. Yummy. Cut in half, scoop out flesh with a teaspoon, delicious. I am planning to make feijoa jelly. Soon.
My husband looked over my shoulder as I was reading your post and suddenly jumped up exclaiming "Oh My God are those feijoas???" lol. Can you tell he is a Kiwi!!
I fell in love with feijoas when he took me over to NZ 4 years ago and now we have about 8 trees of our own. One of ours had its first 4 feijoas this year but sadly, last week 3 of them fell off the tree, far from being ready :-(. We have to now sit and hope that the lonely last one, makes it to its potential size and we can enjoy it.
I love those plates!
