Had a "family twenty-first" party for Linsey on the weekend. She had a bash with friends in Melbourne earlier. It's good fun to get all the local family together.
Classic "girls inside and (most) boys outside".
Linsey, rather partial to prawns, is watched as she devours yet another prawn skewer.
Candles lit by Giles and Clare.
Anyway, amongst general chit-chat Linsey said she wasn't looking forward to starting work at 6.30am the next day. One of her aunties said she wasn't looking forward to work tomorrow either, so I joined in saying I wasn't keen on it either. "Where do you work?", responded the aunty. "At Tint-a-Car, every Monday". "Oh that's nothing, just family stuff". Ahem. I shouldn't let it bother me because this woman said to me a while ago, "Once you've done the washing and the housework, and organised tea there's nothing to do, and nothing on TV".
I am prone to brooding, but now I feel better.
There has to be one in every family that says things that just annoy and niggle at you for days afterwards lol. For me, its my sister in law, that woman is guaranteed to grate at me every time she talks to me, Family you just gotta love em!
On a brighter note it looks like you had a fantastic get-together :-)

You know it's not nothing, and so do we. So there! The gathering looks fun, and the photo of Linsey eating the prawn made me laugh - it somehow looked like a bunch of crows waiting to go the plate when she'd had enough!

Well you know how to throw a party!...that should account for something...and don't forget the most important job of the day: visiting me for an afternoon coffee...(This is my third attempt to post this...)I am an idiot!

Some people just have to be busier and harder working and more important than anyone. Given it's rude to respond "Are you blind/mad/freakin kidding me??" I find it's best to walk away.
